Bulk Price Editor (“the App”) is a Shopify app that lets merchants change product prices in bulk. This policy explains what the App stores, why, and for how long.
What the App accesses
When you install the App, Shopify asks you to grant the following permissions:
read_products, write_products— read your products and variants, and write their price and compare-at priceread_inventory— read the unit cost of an inventory item, to compute prices from cost or from a target margin
The App requests no other permission. It does not access orders, customers, payments, or any personal data about your shoppers.
What the App stores
- Your store domain, an offline access token and the granted scopes
- To call the Shopify Admin API on your behalf, including while nobody is logged in — scheduled sales run in the background.
- Your app preferences (default rounding, default price ending, plan)
- To restore your settings between sessions.
- Your subscription status and the Shopify charge identifier
- To apply the plan you subscribed to through Shopify Billing.
- Per operation: targeting filters, adjustment settings, and the resulting product, variant and inventory-item identifiers
- To show the history of your changes and let you audit them.
- Per modified value: the previous and the new amount
- To let you undo an operation and restore the exact prior prices.
- Your scheduled sales: name, dates, targeting, applied tag
- To start and end them automatically.
The App stores no personal data about your customers, and no order or payment data.
How long the data is kept
- Your data is kept for as long as the App is installed on your store.
- When you uninstall the App, your session and access token are deleted immediately, and the App can no longer reach your store.
- Shopify then sends a
shop/redactrequest, normally 48 hours after uninstall. On receipt, the App permanently deletes all remaining data for your store: preferences, subscription record, operations, price snapshots and scheduled sales.
Because the App holds no customer personal data, customers/data_request and customers/redact requests are acknowledged with nothing to return or erase.
Security
Access tokens are stored in the App’s database and are used only to call the Shopify Admin API. Every webhook request is verified against Shopify’s HMAC signature before being processed. The App is served over HTTPS.
Your rights and contact
You may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your data, and object to its processing. Uninstalling the App triggers the erasure described above without any further action.
Publisher and contact details to be completed before submission.
